These are the principles by which I endeavour to live by.
I might not always get it right but I know I am doing the best I can
and take full responsibility for the lot.
I rate humour highly - it has served me well in this wonderful life by freeing up my mind when I take myself too seriously.
I know, everyone has this one - here is my slant on it. This means I will do what I say I will do. It is underpinned by trust, respect and honesty. I alone make the choices in my life and am completely responsible for all the wonderful, adequate and less than flash things that happen along the way.
I look to apply creativity in all that I do. It is the gas in the tank when I am stuck with a difficult situation and it's the wind behind me when things are going swimmingly.
More than just words
Over the years I have run many strategic planning sessions for clients and this always includes creating or clarifying their organisational values.
It is often a difficult process as you are asking individuals to provide what they believe to be their personal values and then massage them into an organisational wide set for everyone to commit to.
I have learnt that having too many values is unwieldy and that unless you demonstrate the values and become accountable to them, they are a waste of clever words.
Writing them out is easy - putting them into practice consistently isn't quite as easy!
